For 30 years, Jamie Beitzel has worked every inch of this amazing and expansive system within the Daintree River and along its coastline. He is a very relaxed and easy going as a guide, works hard to ensure every client has a good time and gives anglers the best chance of catching the fish of their dreams.
His knowledge of the Daintree River, coast and reefs and its wildlife is simply second to none. In the river, the Daintree is the best system in the region for big queenfish, fingermark, javelin fish and barramundi. Mud crabs also flourish in season. It also offers the best croc spotting opportunities in the region. Along the coast wrecks, inshore patches and wonky holes produce big nannygai, bar cheek trout, mackerel and giant trevally amongst others. He operates a 6m custom built alloy catamaran with ample fishing room, seating with shade and is great for fishing and exploring the river and venturing offshore.
All fishing gear is supplied and food and drinks are BYO with eskies supplied. It is a 45 minute self drive from Port Douglas where you’ll meet him at the tourist landing jetty 300m prior to the Daintreee River / Cape Tribulation ferry crossing. It is worth every effort to spend a trip with Jamie.
